MGMT has just recently released what could be the cover for their new album via their Twitter page and their official website. But instead of a regular picture, you’ll find it’s actually a .gif picture containing random shots of the sky and what looks like to be a corner of a town, as well as shots of frontman Andrew Vanwyngarden mowing the lawn and keyboardist Benjamin Goldwasser staring at a birdcage.

So what do you think? Could one of the shots from the .gif end up being the real album cover, or is it actually a sneak peak from a music video for one of the songs from the album? We know that they have shot a video for Your Life Is A Lie, directed by Tom Kuntz, and were scheduled to shoot a video for Cool Song No. 2 this summer.

MGMT’s third album, the self-titled MGMT, is set to be released on September 17th, 2013.
