Eleven more sleeps to Future Music Festival Asia 2015 (FMFA15), and if you’re heading down to the Changi Exhibition Centre for Southeast Asia’s largest music festival, here’s what you need to know (and do).

YOUR WRISTBAND IS ALSO YOUR WALLET:

After going through security, you will be tagged with a RFID wristband. Besides controlling access, your wristbands can also be topped up with cash and used to purchase drinks at the bar. Don’t have cash on you? Don’t worry you can also top up wristband credits using your credit card. This essentially reduces waiting time in queues to purchase your drinks. Simply place your order, tap your wristband against the reader, and you’re done. Wristbands can be topped up at various Top-Up Stations around the festival site. But for greater convenience, you can also pre top-up your wristbands today even before the festival begins via http://topup.gorillatix.asia. Pre top-ups are only available from now till 9 March 2015.

*If you are a Weekend (2-day) Pass holder, you will only be tagged with one wristband on Day 1 and you will have to keep the same wristband on for Day 2.

TAKE GRABTAXI OR THE SHUTTLE BUS TO FMFA15:

FMFA15 has teamed up with GrabTaxi to offer you with special discounted fares to and from the Changi Exhibition Centre. Use the promo code “FMFA15” when booking your ride via the GrabTaxi mobile app or website.

Alternatively, hop on one of the many FMFA15 shuttle buses that are priced at SGD5 (one-way) and SGD10 (return) per person. If you’re heading to FMFA15, the pick up point is at the Car Park of the Kallang Leisure Park. When leaving the CEC, shuttle buses will drop you off at the following locations:

• Kallang Leisure Park (before 12am)
• City Hall (after 12am)
• Orchard (after 12am)
• Tampines (after 12am)
• Bedok (after 12am)

FACILITIES THAT FACILITATE:

With your convenience in mind, FMFA15 will offer a range of services to further ease your overall festival experience.

The Car Park: Car Park passes can be purchased via www.galactix.asia. Parking is priced at SGD48 (excluding a SGD4 ticketing charge fee) for two-days and can be purchased in advanced via the link above. Parking spaces are limited and passes are sold on a first come first serve basis.

The Bag Drop Counter: Located just before the main entry gates, you can drop off bulky items, bags, etc. for just SGD3 per item. Didn’t read the list of prohibited items and brought a selfie stick? No worries, just store it at the Bag Drop Counter.

The Food Village: Sample the best of Singapore at the FMFA15 Food Village featuring over 15 stalls serving a variety of food from Mexican burritos and nachos, pastas, sandwiches, kebabs, fish and chips, burgers, sushi and tempuras to ice-creams.

The Carnival Zone: Get on rides like the Ghost Train, Meteorite, Bumper Car and Carousel. At FMFA15, music isn’t just all you get.

The Merchandise Booth: Take home something from the FMFA15 merchandise store to remind you of the epic time you had at FMFA15. Merchandises that will be available for sale include official festival t-shirts, emoji-themed masks, sunnies and a range of other official artistes’ merchandise.

The FMFA15 Mobile App: Download the app via Google Play (for Androids) and the iTunes Store (for iPhones) for your own personalised set times and festival map. Create your own schedule and get notified when your favourite acts are about to go on stage.

BE A VIP BALLER:

For those looking to take their party experience to a different level, they could literally do so with the VVIP Private Cabanas going at SGD15,000 each for two-days. These elevated cabanas apart from providing an aerial view of the festival grounds and a fantastic view of the Supernova stage comes with a 25 square meters. private area, access to the cabana for 15 people, private bars, private toilets and 8 bottles of liquor with mixers and 4 bottles of champagne.

In addition, there will also be a VIP Lounge – The First Class Arena – which features an elevated terrace and lounge that overseas the Supernova and Future Live stages. VIP tickets are priced at SGD388. This VIP Lounge will act as a club within the festival and is indoors, air-conditioned, and also includes its own private toilets. Also there will be a variety of exclusive services in the VIP Lounge such as bottle service, and shoulder massages. NO RE-ENTRY:

As part of its security procedure, FMFA15 implements a strict no re-entry policy. This means if you leave the festival grounds early, you will not be allowed back in. You will only be allowed back into the festival grounds the following day.

Future Music Festival Asia 2015 will be held at the 140,000 sq. metre Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore on 13 & 14 March 2015. Tickets to FMFA 2015 are available for purchase via www.futuremusicfestival.asia and are available in three categories: Single Day – Day 1 Only (SGD178), Weekend – Two-Day Pass (SGD228), and VIP (SGD388). Tickets are also available for walk-in purchase at all SISTIC outlets in Singapore. Future Music Festival Asia 2015 is opened to guests aged 18-years and older only. The popular Future Music Festival, which annually held in Australia once again greet the tropical humid temperatures of Malaysia. It’s one of Asian festival enthustiastic can not figure out unless they’re heading on the day. Kinda strange that on our way from Kuala Lumpur around 3PM, the heat was unbearably hot but not long after a big heavy rain bashed everyone even before the festival started. Lucky the sun came up again as the crowd filled inside the venue, and for a moment we’ve thought they must’ve import some Indonesian ‘pawang’ for that!

After the night of trance or so called ASOT 600th, which been fullfiled by the trance master Armin Van Buuren and a world-scale stage and eight globally renowned DJ acts to conceive one epic night of adrenaline-pumping trance party, the party continues to the day two of the festival with even bigger stages from Flamingo Stage, Warrior’s Dance Arena, the Gnome Stage to the Red Bull Hangar, where crowd can choose depends on their interest choice of genres.

Maybe it was The Temper Trap’s first ever performance in Malaysia, but Dougy and his mates succeed satisfying the crowd like it was their several times of performance. Not to mention the long wait for those fanboys we spotted among the crowds! After Temper Trap still at the same stage we catch the energetic performance from Rita Ora. Despite of the technical problems, we all have to admit tha she has nailed it with her contagious energy through the crowd.

Some people asked if we did interview some acts, well sorry to disappointed you, but apperently we just as disturbed as every indie online media can get with a regular pass, that’s also why the only pictures taken were just some shitty shots and not a chance to ask anyone about their music like we used to do. But hey! looking at the bright side, we can enjoy the fest like the real crowd with mates all over the world! And thats what we did when PSY came with his dozen dancers heating up the stage. Although we had no idea what he sang about or when he introduce the crowd with his new catchy song, yet we still dance and jump when he said so. How can we say no to the creator of Gangam Style?

In the other stage, Naughty by Nature, Idiotape, Zeds Dead, Kill The Noise, and not to mention that Indonesia can also be proud of their ‘famous’ DJ, Angger Dimas amused the crowd with their thumping sets. Ok, back to the Flamingo stage, after FUN and awesome performance from Malaysian very own band, They Will Kill Us All, we can say that by the end of the day, apparently the stage were meant to be for Bloc Party. With the amusing lightning stage and kick ass setlist, all those sacrifice being in the middle of drunken crowds and numb legs for standing hours and hours, everything just disappear when Kele, Russell, Gordon and the sexy Matt, yes I said it, cause he’s a hell of sexy drummer with only his pants on, hit the stage and everyone went crazy as hell, from moshing, surf crowd to only God knows what happened on the centre of the crowd. Well, we can’t see much from each stages but we managed to minggle at Warrior Dance stage before we went back, as The Prodigy killed everyone with sweet memories of how dance music supposed to be.

If we wanted to learn from Malaysia, it is okay to win the hearts of music lovers through good quality of festival by having relationship with other countries, and it is even more than okay if the government help to endorse such event, as it can be such a big income for our country. Hopefully, in the upcoming years we can see even more great music festivals around South East Asia! Neverless, we had fun that day and hasta el próximo año peopleee!!
