Going to concerts with a bunch of friends has always been one of the best ways to have fun, but sometimes you have to go to a concert alone! Either you don’t have friends who happen to listen to the same kind of music or your friends can’t make it, you might have to go solo. Well, the point is you will be alone in a crowd. In this case, you might see yourself being alone, doing nothing, or you will have this image that you’re stranded in a group of people and you just have nothing to do but space out. After doing some research of to-dos when you are alone at a concert, I’m sure this article will help you a lot in being a single fighter. Here’s what you can do when you’re alone at a concert!

1. Make Yourself Look Busy

The best way to make yourself appear busy is having your phone at all times. This is one of the reasons why tech savvies created Path, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, to get yourself out of the boredom. Phone is a great distraction especially when you’re waiting for the concert to start. But make sure you have saved up enough battery or bring along its charger (sometimes at a concert’s booth, you can find an electrical plug), if your battery is drained, you are at a dead-end.

2. Find A Fellow Single Fighter

“I am single, you’re single, then we can mingle”, this can be applied when you are alone at a concert. In doing this, you just have to use your mingling skill and act nicely. Use general jokes or something that you’re good at to ice-break the situation, if you’re scared they’d give a lame response to your jokes, you can discuss about the bands. if you feel there’s a connection, maybe you can go with him/her in the next concert.

3. Entertain Yourself By Visiting An Interesting Booth

Every concert always has one or two interest booths. Each booth will give a different kind of entertainment, if it’s booth of a beer brand, they might have a beer-pong contest. Plus, you can befriend with the SPG or SPB, a good way to build networking.

4. Search Twitter Feeds

Search twitter feeds might help you out from being lonely! Who knows if your friend or acquaintance is at the same gig. Updating also will help to inform some possible fellow friend at the same concert.

5. Act Non-Chalant

The most important thing of being alone at a concert is just keep calm and don’t act like you are keyed up. Just act like nothing is wrong, don’t make yourself look confused with the situation.

Despite the contrary, there’s nothing wrong in being alone at a concert, because when the concert starts, what you’ll be doing is just to see your favourite musicians’ show, not having an endless chat with your friends. Just mind your own business and enjoy the concert you intend to. You might think people will see you as an a-social when you are going to a concert alone or maybe it’s just in your mind, but no one cares if you’re alone or you’re in a pack of hipster look-a-likes. Alone or not, the important thing is to unwind and have fun. Happy watching, single fighters!

We believe everyone from the old ages to the newbie hipster already plan what and which concert they have to attend this year since lots of bands seems favouring to go around asia. And speaking of age, we saw quite a lot of young faces at the venue and probably that was their first concert they’ve attended. So, we want to give some tips for the newbie about how to survive your first concert.

1. Every man for himself.. but don’t get angry if you’re not man enough.
Everyone wants to get their best spot, and no wonder most of the audience run as fast as they can like seeing ghost just to get up front (which sometimes looked weird when actually the venue still empty and there’s not much people follow you). Keep in mind if you are up front, you will get pushed around but don’t be upset and be pushover when it happened, cause everyman for himself. Thats why its better if you go to the bathroom or any other place beforehand, you cant reclaim your spot unless you have friend with you to keep it for you.

2. You’re watching concert not going to a mall.
Be as comfortable as possible, people going to a concert to see their favourite band not favourite audience, and you will get push and sweaty so rather than use 20inches high heels try to use sneakers or flat shoes and please it’s not like the rain going to enter the indoor venue, just leave your big motorbike jacket. And whats important is most of concert venue doesn’t have locker to keep your belongings, and they certainly wont have lost & found boxes. So bring nothing except your wallet with your ID and phone.

3. Be aware, stay sober
Yes you’re there to have fun and be as crazy as possible, but you don’t have to get drunk to get the fun and crazy part. You don’t want to be the person that got kicked out because you throw up or get punched because of your craziness or even the person who cried later because you just lost your belongings somehow. And please if you want to be crazy just try not to hurt other people by punching or hit them with your elbow. And its cool to apologise if you do so.

4. Don’t be that jerk person
We know you are exciting but try not to annoy other people or your friend by talking to much, complaining, or making phone calls. People around you want to enjoy the concert not your talking. And don’t be the jerk who go to the show just so you can tell your friend you went there by tweeting and texting at the front row, while other die hard fans barely hard to jump and go closely to their fav band because avoiding you get hurt or your phone dropped.

5. Enjoy the show
Well the most and we believe all of you already knew, is have fun and enjoy the show! You wont have any chance to sing as loud as possible at home or public area, so here’s the place to do so. Don’t be shy, go dancing like crazy and if you’re lucky maybe the band see you and ask you to do the dance on stage!
