The night of celebration has finally over, LaLaLa Festival 2019 has come to an end. The festival met several obstacles throughout, but still made happen only by tremendous supports from everyone. LaLaLa Festival are very sorry to every little inconveniences during the event that happened due to unforeseen circumstances. If anything, it was their sole intention to make the best of natural forest beauty a festive ground suitable for everyone.

The event, held on 23 February 2019 in Orchid Forest, Lembang was indeed showcasing a beautiful forest in one magical night with nature, music, and mood assembly. With so many things to see there were, including beautiful installation of lights of tunnel, garden of light, and also camping ground during the night of wonder, crowd were indeed aesthetically pleased.
Exhibiting three stages, each meticulously filled with dynamic performances from both international and national line-ups, visitors were spread throughout LaLaLa Stage, Navajo Stage, and Ombre Stage. Honne, The Internet, and Crush were a few to catch the most attention in The LaLaLa Stage. Honne’s performance is exhilarating like always, full of spirit, and with so many crowd there were, they managed to make the best sing along ever with almost 15,000 people. Syd from The Internet was also having tremendous fun with the best crowd, and she did not forget to mention her love for Indonesian Traditional Herbal Medicine onstage, much for everyone’s cheers. In addition, Korean

superstar Crush brought a special performance by inviting the band Wanderlust on stage to captivate fans with a solid and charming appearance through his song such as “Beautiful Day”.
On the other side, Jeremy Passion was one of the highlight from Navajo Stage, especially once he’s performing his hit song Lemonade. As the night get late, Diskoria created their own massive crowd because they were just that great! The last but not least, one of the new talents, the Club Dangdut Racun was able to captivate the audience from Ombre Stage who performed Indonesian dangdut songs in modern tuch which was able to make the whole audience dance along to the music. Other performers were also very satisfying for visitors under orchid tree forests such as Joe Hertz, Astronomy, Pomo, Sheila On 7, Project Pop, Fourtwnty, Ardhito Pramono, and many more at LaLaLa Festival 2019.

1. Having mother nature on our side.

The biggest flaw with LaLaLa Fest 2016 was apparently the longing rain, which was way out of crew’s hands. This year we have been blessed with good weather from the start. Arriving around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, we were greeted by a breath of fresh air, a shy ray of sunshine and the perfect rush of misty wind. Even though we had some worry that the rain will eventually come soon, it was a pretty dry and beautiful day. Well, we did have a good hour of rain, but not big and long enough to stop us from having a great time!

2. Orchid Forest at Cikole was transformed in to a forest out of a fairy tale.

The first time we arrived at the beautiful Orchid Forest in Cikole we were stunned by how pretty and magical the places was transformed. Tree houses, flickering yellow lights, neon sticks coming out of the ground, and not to mention the fog! Orchid Forest has truly transformed in to a magical forest we only see in fairy tales.

3. Finding place for dance and rave music in the middle of a forest festival.

At first we were skeptical whether dance, r&b, rave music will be appropriate for a music festival in the middle of a forest. But we were proven wrong! Acts like Dipha Barus, Blackbear, and Blonde felt right at home during their performances. It was definitely appropriate and people can actually party in the middle of a forest. Brava LaLaLa Fest for thinking outside the norms!

4. Tom Odell redefining the meaning of piano in a live performance.

We have been a fan of Tom Odell’s since the beginning, even just by listening to his records. We appreciate the fact that he put piano as the main focus and not to only play ballad songs. With that being said, his live performance was far from mellow! Backed up by his band mates, Toby on drum and Max on bass, they delivered a surprisingly hard core performance! Drum solo, chair throwing, and barricade climbing are just some things we wouldn’t expect from a Tom Odell gig, but glad we got anyway. Truly a class act!

5. Oh Wonder + LaLaLa Fest crowds = A Match Made in Heaven

We can’t tell stories about our LaLaLa Fest 2018 experience without talking about the headline, Oh Wonder. This duo from London town apparently already got a huge fanbase here in Indonesia. From the chit chats throughout the festival, there were a lot of people travel to Lembang just to see them. Well, it was definitely apparent!

As we were getting closer to Oh Wonder’s performance, the excitement was palpable, you could almost taste it. Starting the set with their exploding number, Livewire, Oh Wonder managed to get the crowds in to frenzy. And don’t get us started with what came after that! After Livewir, the duo played one of our favorite song, the calming Without You. Ah, that was such a bliss moment. Every songs catered with such perfection, combined with the unbelievable energy coming from the crowd just made everything even more special. Oh Wonder was destined to headline LaLaLa Fest.

Time surely does fly, and it is only few days before all the growing excitement for LaLaLa Festival 2018 will finally collide! Counting only days away now, we can’t help but hold back and daydream about it a little bit too much. With the international forest festival approaching fast, Bandung will soon be home for much renowned performers ready to charm all the thrilled crowds.

Latest addition to the lineup, Route 94, will join Oh Wonder, Blackbear, Wafia, Blonde, RKCB, and Tom Odell as the anticipated international acts this year. Being true with the forte, this year LaLaLa Festival also celebrates new talents nationwide thru its band submission competition held last January. Among hundred participants, Gabriel Mayo, Dizzyhead, Moko Discover, and Radak Banu were chosen as the final winners.
