Time surely does fly, and it is only few days before all the growing excitement for LaLaLa Festival 2018 will finally collide! Counting only days away now, we can’t help but hold back and daydream about it a little bit too much. With the international forest festival approaching fast, Bandung will soon be home for much renowned performers ready to charm all the thrilled crowds.

Latest addition to the lineup, Route 94, will join Oh Wonder, Blackbear, Wafia, Blonde, RKCB, and Tom Odell as the anticipated international acts this year. Given the striking performers with which loyal fans are spoiled with, there is no wonder why the festival is a must go. Just as though the international acts are not ferocious enough to begin with, this year LaLaLa Festival will also feature all the local favorites without a single miss, namely Rendy Pandugo, Adhitia Sofyan, Ten2Five, Reality Club, Pusakata, The Groove, Dipha Barus, Kallula, Nadin, and Roycdc. “As we’re back again with two stages, we proudly present you the Navajo Stage as the Main Stage and Ombre Stage as the Second Stage”

So to speak from the final lineup, diverse music performances are curated thoroughly to fuse barrier of genres altogether. This year LaLaLa Festival promises to bring up a whole unparalleled music experience by going back to nature in the most woven way between tones, woodland, and celebration. With a whole experience being said, attendees will get to roam all day in beautiful Orchid Forest of Cikole in which charming neon park, ping-pong table, spacious F&B Area, and more exciting spots are installed. LaLaLa Festival 2018 is fast approaching and we only have a few weeks left to prepare ourselves for the event of the year! We have some ticks and trips on how to prepare yourself to get the very best bits of LaLaLa Festival.

1. Invest on an awesome raincoats!

We can’t deny the fact that mother nature can sometimes be unpredictable. There might not be a lot of rain for the last couple of weeks, but what if something upset the big mama and for reason it’s raining on the day? To get ready with nature’s mood swing, go buy yourself a great looking raincoats or ponchos to rock under the rain. Be it a yellow IT style coat or clear American Psycho vibe raincoats, just make sure you got them ready!

2. Ditch your expensive sneakers and grab an adorable pair of wellie boots

Like going to any other festivals, you might want to wear your finest, crispiest, dopest kicks, but you might forget that LaLaLa Fest is not like any other festivals. It’s the kind of festival where you can get closer to all earth’s five elements. The combination of those five elements might not be the best idea for your kicks. So, instead of having to clean and resurrect your favorite sneakers, settle for an adorable and comfortable pair of wellie boots. They’re stylish and comfortable and easy to clean and you can pretend like you’re at Glastonbury. Win, win, win.

3. Grab your coziest sweater for a night in the forest

LaLaLa Fest in a one full day music festival. That means, you’ll be at the Orchard Forest from day to late at night. Lembang is not known for its warm weather, it could get breezy at night and for people traveling from Jakarta, it might be too cold for us. Pack your coziest, quirkiest sweater and get cozy together with your mates or SO at night while cuddling during Oh Wonder’s set.

4. Leave your car and hop on the LaLaLa Fest shuttle bus!

Driving to and from festivals is one the major hustle that can’t be avoided. And don’t get us started with finding parking! It is almost impossible to go to a festival at later without getting stuck in a headache inducing traffic and having to wait for a long long time for a parking! Luckily for us, the team of LaLaLa Fest have it all figured out. The festival is providing shuttle bus service from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia to the venue for only 35k. So, park your car elsewhere and head to the festival worry-less.
Prepare your tummy for an array of good food

One of the best thing and our personal favorite thing about festivals other than the music, is undoubtedly the array of food. Last year, LaLaLa Fest has an amazing collection of food vendors that catered to all different taste. You got Indonesian food, American comfort food, Mexican food, Korean, Japanese, you name it, they had it! We expect nothing less from this year’s LaLaLa Fest and we’re pretty sure they won’t let us down. So prepare your tummy to endure on some amazing food. Don’t let them go to waste!

Create a kick-ass playlist!

A great playlist can take you far in order to get you warmed up for a festival. If you’re taking a road trip to Lembang with your mates from out of town then you definitely need a kick ass playlist for the road. Why not kill two birds with one stone? You can do a road trip and warm up at the same time. We suggest adding different musicians to the mix to keep things interesting. Adding Ben Howard, Sufjan Stevens, George Maple, Ta-Ku, and Paolo Nutini will  spice the playlist up but still sticking to the theme. 3. Out of the rain season *fingers crossed*
The last LaLaLa Fest was held in November just right in the middle of the rain season, that might be the reason why mother nature was not in the mood in giving us the sun. Well, lesson learned! The team decided to move the festival to March, a sunnier month. Fingers crossed tho, we hope mother nature will be all cried out by then.

4. Embracing music festival outside The Big Durian once more
What we really love about LaLaLa Fest is that they pick the unusual places like the Pine Forest and the Orchard Forst in Cikole, Lembang, Bandung. Although many will be traveling from the Big Durian, but it’s a refreshing thing to attend a festival outside Jakarta, not a lot of festival do that, especially big International festivals like LaLaLa Fest. So, kudos to the whole team for thinking outside the box, or should we say outside the spiky durian shells.

Many of you who attended the first ever International Forest Festival in Indonesia, LaLaLa Festival went home wet and muddy. Yes, indeed it was raining the whole day creating a natural floor of mud that made it a challenge for people to walk around the venue. A lot of complains were made about it, but hey, mother nature is a powerful thing, nothing can predict it. But with all complains made towards the festival, we know deep down you had a really great time. We have proof that LaLaLa Festival was actually a success.

1. You’ve mastered the mud walk

One thing that going LaLaLa Festival taught you was how to walk on mud. You also realize that walking on mud was actually fun and challenging at the same time. Sure, many of you fell down or got your feet stuck on mud and your favorite shoes was mad dirty by the time the first act performed, but you got used to it by the end and you shared a few laughs with your mates. Sounds like a fun time to us.

2. When it rained, shit happened

Lets be real here, you guys knew it will rain the day of the festival, since Bandung has been pouring nonstop for a few weeks. And when it rains, things happen. Wet happen, dirt turn in to mud, you’ll get soaking wet, your shoes get wet and dirty. But it’s just what it is, rain. We all know rain all to well living in this country in this time of year. It shouldn’t worry you, it should excite you.

3. Patience is Virtue

The whole lineup of LaLaLa Festival got pushed back a couple of hours, unfortunately. While  they were forced to cut the performances short, the good thing was that everyone performed. Having a little patience wasn’t so bad right? At the end of the day you got to see all your favorite artists performed.

4. This was not as bad as Jakarta’s daily traffic

Everyone who brought their cars with them know that the traffic was hell. But it only means that many people were going to the same place, that is LaLaLa Festival. Bandung and Lembang might have heavy traffic during the weekend, but believe us when we say, Jakarta has worse if not as bad of a traffic daily! A little traffic shouldn’t annoy you.

5. Know the suitable festival footwear

Yes, festivals are not just about music. Fashion and dressing up are one of the reasons people love to go to festivals. But there are things that people kee forgetting, to wear comfortable shoes. Festivals are a full day thing, you’re going to have to stand and move a lot. Wearing cute but painful and uncomfortable shoes might not be the best idea. We saw a lot of people wearing itty bitty sandals, high heels, to boots with heels. They’re all great for pictures, but they limit your movement and hella uncomfortable to stand on, let alone dance to your favorite band.

6. Massive room for improvement for LaLaLa Festival 2017

After all the things happened at LaLaLa Festival 2016, we bet we’re all anxious and intrigued to see what LaLaLa Fest 2017 will bring us. Yes, we are hoping for a LaLaLa Festival 2017. Why? Because we are a huge fan of the concept. That outdoorsy, back to nature theme was creative and not something we have a lot in Indonesia. Having a lot of trouble on the first year was tolerable and acceptable. LaLaLa Fest crew now know how to handle things in the future. A little piece of advise, maybe try a drier month next year?

7. KODALINE!

The grand finale, Kodaline! Need we say more? All those waiting around, getting wet, getting our feet dirty was all worth it in the end. Kodaline came to Indonesia for the first time thanks to LaLaLa Festival. Their set was sublime and a bit romantic, especially with all the surrounding. The rustic and energetic performance the brought out fit perfectly in to the whole concept of the festival. Playing their hit numbers like “Love Like This”; “ The One”;  “ High Hopes” and “All I Want”. Song after song the crowd was never still. They sang to every song, every words. The lads from Kodaline surely wasn’t expecting those kind of reactions coming from a Bandung crowd.

LaLaLa Festival 2016 did not went off without a hitch. What could have been a perfect festival, was disrupted by mother nature. Kudos for the crew of this year’s LaLaLa Fest for creating a unique festival concept.We hope to see another LaLaLa Festival in the future.

Bandung is finally getting the international recognition it deserves with LaLaLa Festival, the first ever International Forest Festival in Indonesia. WEKEED is a Parisian electronic duo who received a phenomenal reaction to their breakthrough track ‘Wild Child’. . ‘Wild Child’ has now reached more than 42 Million views on Majestic Casual’s YouTube channel and is the most viewed video on the channel and the best selling track on Majestic’s. Naxxos and MYMP will be also your perfect companion in the middle of the forest, only at LaLaLa Festival. The Indonesian Musicians will also be performing for LaLaLa Festival, from Maliq & D’Essentials, Isyana Sarasvati, Teza Sumendra, HMGNC, Float, Payung Teduh, Kimokal, Bottlesmoker, TROU, Mustache & Beard, Playfvl Cab, DJ Ninda Felina, Onar, and many more.

When the news first broke that the Irish folk rock band will be coming to LaLaLa Festival, fans reacted in questioning if it’s really happening. But all doubts vanished when Kodaline’s official twitter account confirmed the news with a tweet “Just gonna leave this here! Can’t f**king wait!!!” a long with the official LaLaLa Festival picture. We can assure you, they’re not the only one who “can’t f**king wait!!!” for the big day.

After releasing their first album “In a Perfect World”, Kodaline has been recognized internationally. With hits like “All I want”, “High Hopes” and “Love Like This” being played in every radio around the world, the world has become more and more familiar with Kodaline. And since their second album titled “Coming Up for Air” came out February of 2015, they have been on a world tour until earlier this year. From all the places they visited since last year, they finally make a stop to the beautiful Cikole Forest in Lembang to headline LaLaLa Festival.
