Kicked off with “My Favorite Accident“, the single from their debut., “I Am The Movie” (Epitaph, 2002). Unfortunately, the instrument synthesizers / moog which is the strong characteristic of the band was not quite shown up at the beginning of their set. But, it was cleary proved that the band were trying to be all out in performing it, since this is their very first time show in Indonesia.  Not like Indonesia, Japan, is the only country in Asia which always have been one of the band’s ultimate destinations . They’ll be performing for Nano-Mugen Fest, the annual event in Yokohama which the headliners of the event is dominated by synthesizers instrument, such as Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Ellegarden, and many more.

Justin Pierre didn’t say much about the band’s appearance in Indonesia, he only said that he was happy that the band finally could make it here and the band were surprised by the appreciation’s from the indonesian fans. Their show is also the part of their world tour in promoting their new album, “Go” (Epitaph, 2013). Some of the songs were performed on that night,  “The Coma Kid”, and its single “Timelines”. Beside performing in Bandung, they also hop to Jogjakarta in the next day (7/03) and heard through the grapevine that the band are so excited to visit Borobudur Temple.

“Everything is Alright” was their 16th song to play, this single is pretty much radio-friendly not only to the band’s fan. Just like most of the concerts’ trick, the band returned to the stage to wrap up their show by performing “Hold Me Down”.

Thank you Heaven Records by bringing the band to your land, it was such an unexpected moment to have an international pop-punk act spared some of their time to visit Indonesia while they are pretty busy in touring. (Joph)

Motion City Soundtrack will have their first step in Indonesian soil in March 2013. After a very long wait by the fans, they finally confirmed that they are going to have a couple of shows in Indonesia. On their Asia-Australian tour, they will make a visit and exclusive performances in two cities in Indonesia. Heaven Records as the promoter of this event have successfully convinced them to play in Bandung and Yogyakarta, while most of the concerts are usually held in Jakarta. Bandung and Yogyakarta are locally famous for their creative industry and this has become one of the reasons of why the promoter would proudly introduce these cities to the world. Remarkably, Bandung is where the Indonesian punk / underground music scene was born.
