Counting Days to LaLaLa Festival 2018!

You are all invited to celebrate this moment together! It’s less than a week away from LaLaLa Festival 2018, and we can’t be more excited. The International forest festival will be held on Saturday, 10 March 2018 in the perplexing woodland of Orchid Forest Cikole. The beautiful venue, known for its magical natural forest and garden of lights, has been one of the most prominent tourist destinations in Bandung, Indonesia. Aside of the distinctive view, the venue is also equipped with ideal sphere and convenient arrangements to accommodate attendees. Brought by THE Group, an event promoter based in Bandung, LaLaLa Festival has its own charming way with music enthusiasts all over the country.

With only less than a week away to the festival, growing crowds are kept enthralled with surprising secret guest like Route 94. The deep house singer / producer behind hits like My Love and House & Pressure will join the long list of star studded performers such as Oh Wonder, Blackbear, will be doing the only appearance in South East Asia, much to the extra enthusiasm of their loyal fans. We can’t also wait to see the performances by Wafia, Blonde, Bondax, RKCB, and Tom Odell to name a few.

This year LaLaLa Festival’s local acts will feature Rendhy Pandugo, Adhitia Sofyan, Ten2Five, Reality Club, Pusakata, The Groove, Dipha Barus, Kallula, Nadin, and Roycdc. Finally, the diverse music performances are curated thoroughly to bring up a worthy music experience and appreciation of tone, as the aim of the festival has always been.

It is not officially a music festival before we get into the band submissions. Being true with the forte, this year LaLaLa Festival also celebrates new talents nationwide thru its band submission competition held last January. Among hundred participants, Gabriel Mayo, Dizzyhead, Moko Discover, and Radak Banu were chosen as the final winners. The lucky four will get a chance to share the stage and showcase themselves along the star-studded performers list.

Speaking of extra details, promoter has been fully aware of the anticipated large crowd on the D-Day. Beside we added more parking spots for those who came, We have our special LaLaLa Festival Bus Shuttle. We are ready to make sure that everyone will enjoy the whole festival just right. LaLaLa Festival 2018 is fast approaching and we only have a few weeks left to prepare ourselves for the event of the year! We have some ticks and trips on how to prepare yourself to get the very best bits of LaLaLa Festival.

1. Invest on an awesome raincoats!

We can’t deny the fact that mother nature can sometimes be unpredictable. There might not be a lot of rain for the last couple of weeks, but what if something upset the big mama and for reason it’s raining on the day? To get ready with nature’s mood swing, go buy yourself a great looking raincoats or ponchos to rock under the rain. Be it a yellow IT style coat or clear American Psycho vibe raincoats, just make sure you got them ready!

2. Ditch your expensive sneakers and grab an adorable pair of wellie boots

Like going to any other festivals, you might want to wear your finest, crispiest, dopest kicks, but you might forget that LaLaLa Fest is not like any other festivals. It’s the kind of festival where you can get closer to all earth’s five elements. The combination of those five elements might not be the best idea for your kicks. So, instead of having to clean and resurrect your favorite sneakers, settle for an adorable and comfortable pair of wellie boots. They’re stylish and comfortable and easy to clean and you can pretend like you’re at Glastonbury. Win, win, win.

3. Grab your coziest sweater for a night in the forest

LaLaLa Fest in a one full day music festival. That means, you’ll be at the Orchard Forest from day to late at night. Lembang is not known for its warm weather, it could get breezy at night and for people traveling from Jakarta, it might be too cold for us. Pack your coziest, quirkiest sweater and get cozy together with your mates or SO at night while cuddling during Oh Wonder’s set.

4. Leave your car and hop on the LaLaLa Fest shuttle bus!

Driving to and from festivals is one the major hustle that can’t be avoided. And don’t get us started with finding parking! It is almost impossible to go to a festival at later without getting stuck in a headache inducing traffic and having to wait for a long long time for a parking! Luckily for us, the team of LaLaLa Fest have it all figured out. The festival is providing shuttle bus service from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia to the venue for only 35k. So, park your car elsewhere and head to the festival worry-less.
Prepare your tummy for an array of good food

One of the best thing and our personal favorite thing about festivals other than the music, is undoubtedly the array of food. Last year, LaLaLa Fest has an amazing collection of food vendors that catered to all different taste. You got Indonesian food, American comfort food, Mexican food, Korean, Japanese, you name it, they had it! We expect nothing less from this year’s LaLaLa Fest and we’re pretty sure they won’t let us down. So prepare your tummy to endure on some amazing food. Don’t let them go to waste!

Create a kick-ass playlist!

A great playlist can take you far in order to get you warmed up for a festival. If you’re taking a road trip to Lembang with your mates from out of town then you definitely need a kick ass playlist for the road. Why not kill two birds with one stone? You can do a road trip and warm up at the same time. We suggest adding different musicians to the mix to keep things interesting. Adding Ben Howard, Sufjan Stevens, George Maple, Ta-Ku, and Paolo Nutini will spice the playlist up but still sticking to the theme. If you’re too lazy to create your own playlist, LaLaLa Fest provides them for you, a great mixes too!

How LaLaLa Festival 2018 will be the comeback we’ve been waiting for

Indonesia’s first international forest festival, LaLaLa festival is making a comeback after taking a break in 2017. Their first run in November 2016 might not be a smooth run, and to be fair it’s because of the rage of mother nature, it overpowered the brilliant vision that LaLaLa Festival had. Now they’re back with more time to make this second round a home run! Here’s why we know LaLaLa Fest will be their best redemption: 1. Same vision, new location LaLaLa Festival 2018 is still going to have the same vision as it was the first time, to become the first international forest festival in Indonesia and the biggest in Bandung. It was an out of the box vision from the team of LaLaLa Fest, but alas mother nature said otherwise. But this year they are back with a new location, although not far from their first location, that will bring new lucks to the whole festival. Moving from the Pine Forest in Cikole to the Orchard Forest, we can just imagine how the design team of LaLaLa Fest will transform the hanging bridge and the theater with twinkling lights and rustic decor or whatever they decided to do to transform the forest in to something magical. 2. Outstanding first lineup LaLaLa Fest has been great with choosing who they want in their lineup, and this year is no exception! Well, let us rewind to the year of 2016 when they managed to got Kodaline to come to Indonesia for the very first time, history was made! This year they are determined to make yet another history. Lets investigate. First of all they got the dreamy London duo, Oh Wonder with their oh so wonderful song “Without You” which we still can’t get enough of. Then they managed to get Tom Odell in to the mix alongside other international acts like Blonde, Wafia, Blackbear, and many many more to come. The lineup is LaLaLa Fest telling you that house music also has a place in the forest.

3. Out of the rain season *fingers crossed*
The last LaLaLa Fest was held in November just right in the middle of the rain season, that might be the reason why mother nature was not in the mood in giving us the sun. Well, lesson learned! The team decided to move the festival to March, a sunnier month. Fingers crossed tho, we hope mother nature will be all cried out by then.

4. Embracing music festival outside The Big Durian once more
What we really love about LaLaLa Fest is that they pick the unusual places like the Pine Forest and the Orchard Forst in Cikole, Lembang, Bandung. Although many will be traveling from the Big Durian, but it’s a refreshing thing to attend a festival outside Jakarta, not a lot of festival do that, especially big International festivals like LaLaLa Fest. So, kudos to the whole team for thinking outside the box, or should we say outside the spiky durian shells.
