Twelve foreign and Indonesian musicians today were added to the We The Fest 2019 lineup which had previously announced various musicians across genres including Rae Sremmurd, Daniel Caesar, Sabrina Claudio, DEAN, Tulus, and After Sex Cigarettes.

In the second phase of the 2019 We The Fest lineup, 6 new names were announced, namely Australian singer Troye Sivan who was asked to become the headliner or main performer; singer of the songs “2002″ and “Friends”, Anne-Marie; Awarded Best R & B song nominee at the 2016 Grammy Awards, Cashmere Cat; singer, producer and rapper from 88rising label Joji; New York producer, Jai Wolf; and Cade, a singer and electronic producer from the United States.

Indonesian musicians also colored the announcement of the phase of We Weest Fest 2019, namely Barasuara, The Adams, Elephant Kind, Endah N Rhesa, Dekat, and Pamungkas.

“In the phase of the two We The Fest 2019 lineups, finally one of the musicians most often asked to bring in for years can be brought this year, Troye Sivan,” said Sarah Deshita, Brand Manager of Ismaya Live as the organizer.

“In addition to Troye, 11 international and Indonesian musicians represent a diversity of genres on We The Fest which are important elements at this festival. One thing that should be anticipated is the surprises of Indonesian musicians who often bring something different and special if they perform at We The Fest, “continued Sarah.

In addition to the announcement of 12 new names in the lineup, We The Fest also announced the return of 5 We The Fest distinctive zones included in the Beyond The Music series including silent cinema WTF Cinema Club; games area with various games, Carnifun; food and beverage zone that serves food and drinks from Ismaya Group’s favorite restaurant concept, Eats & Beats; the hall where viewers can try out various interactive activations and areas that showcase the collaboration of We The Fest with Indonesia’s famous clothing brand, WTF Con; and a zone where viewers can take art classes and see a variety of works of art from Indonesian artists, Art Village.

“We The Fest is a festival full of collaboration. Under the umbrella of Beyond The Music, we will collaborate with various communities, brands, institutions, media and organizations to create an unforgettable festival experience, “Sarah said.

“There are still many musicians from outside and inside the country, as well as activations and campaigns that we will announce in the next few months,” continued Sarah.

At present, We The Fest 2019 General Admission (GA) tickets are sold in the form of a 3-Day Pass or three-day forward ticket starting at Rp1,400,000 for GA – Presale 3, and Rp1,200,000 for GA tier – Early Entry 3 which requires the audience to come before 4pm.

Meanwhile, there is also an installment program for GA 3-Day Pass tickets at a price of Rp1,500,000, which is paid in installments through 3 payments with a choice of payment frequency every 15 days or 30 days.

For a more complete festival experience, there is a Very Important Banana (VIB) 3-Day Pass ticket for Rp2,800,000 which provides more convenience starting from the VIB special entrance, access to the VIB special audience area in front of the stage, special queues when exchanging tickets, access to VIB lounge, VIB toilet and VIB bar.

Road to We The Fest 2018 will also be held at Twilo skate park, Kemang, on Friday, 6 July 2018. This event will introduce the new zone of We The Fest which is a skate park in collaboration with Twilo called WTF Skate Park. A talkshow of behind the scene of We the Fest 2018 titled Sehidup Semusik, the outcome of We The Fest 2018 collaboration with Pophariini, will be held on Friday, 13 July 2018 at Sehidup Sekopi from 17:00 until 19:00 WIB. The talkshow will have Sarah Deshita as Ismaya Live Assistant Brand Manager, and Widi from Maliq and D’Essentials as the moderator, attendants can get a glimpse of the behind the scene from the making of We The Fest and know some fun facts along the way.

“In its fifth year, we are bringing back We The Fest sooner than before. We would always have it in August, but this year we’re having it in July,” said Kevin Wiyarnanda as PR & Media Relations of Ismaya Live, the festival organizer.

“This year’s lineup will be more diverse than ever. A lot of the musicians we’re announcing soon have never performed in Indonesia before,” Kevin continued.

We know that you (including us) all rarely pray, but at least once in a year, you should thank god for a couple of things. Anyways, since we had too much during We The Fest 2017, we would like to thank god for….

1. For Becoming a Rainless 3-Day Festival

People might have doubted it when they heard that this year’s We The Fest will be held for three days. But against all odds, the team managed to deliver! Three days of great lineup, great fun, and most importantly great weather.

2. For Throwing Back The Life of Highschool

Who agrees that the last We The Fest reminded you to the time when you were still in highschool? Because, O LORD, there were a lot of teenagers (probably under 17s) who also jumped in at the festival and we suddenly felt like being taken to their pre-prom night party. Much love.

3. For Giving Us Instagram Stock Photos

What else in this life that matters the most than having shizload of instagenic photos? Kudos to We The Fest for the eye candy installments which make our photo props look artsy and make us look like a badass music fan. Finally a photo that can garner hundred of likes!   4. For The Opportunity to Wear Edgy Outfit

Did anyone REALLY shop for We The Fest? Because we did! We wore our super unique outfit like we just came out of indian tribe. We also love how most of the crowd were so stylish, even some wore heels, please let us know if your ankle survived.

5. For Moving to JIExpo

Not that we didn’t enjoy last year’s venue, but this year’s location was perfect! JIExpo was big enough to accommodate the large WTF crowd. Being at JIExpo allowed WTF to create much bigger stages for all performers. We’re also thankful for This Stage is Banana indoor stage. What a great way to cool off.

6. For Creating a Musical Melting Pot of a Festival We All Deserve

Music festivals are rarely cater to everyone’s like and need, then come We The Fest. But there’s something about this year’s line up that was extra rich. This year no one gets left behind. Bands like The Adams, Rumah Sakit, and LANY satisfied the rock n roll bros. Performers like Yuna, Daya, and Teddy Adhitya made the RnB seeker dance the heart away. For the always sappy soul, Raisa and Danilla were there to heal their broken hearts. Cash Cash, Epik High, and Ramengvrl for everyone with too many swagger in their system. Lastly DJs like Snakehips and Jonas Blue for the hardcore ravers, who couldn’t wait for DWP this December. 7. For The Super Comfortable VIP Arena We don’t know whether you will be thankful for this- BUT WE WOULD! The VIP Arena was just so splendid and we couldn’t think what on earth would happen to us and some celebgrams if this arena weren’t there to save our lives. 8. For Inviting Our Local Heroes

Sure, the international names were great. But you know who we were looking forward to seeing? Our local heroes! The local bands and performers were top notch this year. They got every genres covered. Our favorite would be Ramengvrl who’s swagger control the whole This Stage is Banana area. Watch out, this one is going places! Our other favorite? Potret. Melly Goeslaw sang songs from our teenage day and we couldn’t be more thankful for it. Singing ‘Salah’ and ‘Bagaikan Langit’ with your mates while dancing freely was the flash back we all hoped for!

9. For a Peek Under G-Eazy’s Shirt

Well to be honest, a peek is an understatement. A few songs in, the WTF heat finally got to Gerald and the shirt if off! Boy, did the ladies went wild. As if his live performance of “Mean It” and “Good Live” weren’t hot enough, he did the rest of his set shirtless. Well, shirtless or not, his set was ground breaking.   10. For Dua Lipa for Teaching Us Her New Rules that Blew Our Mind

One of the most anticipated performer this year was the British gal, Dua Lipa. Her set was upbeat and engaging. Dua especially turned the heat up during her new song “New Rules”. The song about how to get over a breakup seemed to be a popular one amongst the crowd. Well it’s no surprise, the chorus were so catchy and the beats after “I got new rules, I count them…” just made you want to dance. The performance blew our mind.

11. For a Dry, Rainless Phoenix Set

After their incomplete set at Love Garage back in 2014, people were looking forward for the return of this France quartet. This time, everything was the opposite of Love Garage. The band headlined the second day of the festival sans rain, sans technical difficulties, complete encore, and lots of happy and dry, dancing crowds. 12. For the Craziest Rave Party by Charli XCX When we heard Charli XCX will be performing at this year’s WTF we expected a party, but she gave way beyond that. Once we saw the crew installing two “car commercial” inflatable waving men, we knew we were infer a treat! It was just her and two gals, well and those waving men, but it felt more. The swagger that Charli had on that stage made up of the lack of band. For her first time in the country she had made a great and raving impression. 13. The President’s stamp of approval

It seemed that we’re not the only ones who’s thankful for WTF17. The number one person in the country aka The President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo was there to show his appreciation towards the festival. The camera was on him in the middle of Charli’s ‘Fancy’ number. Between, Charli’s rapping Iggi Azalea’s verse and the sight of the President on the big screen, people were confused who they were cheering for.

Well all in all, WTF17 had been proof that We The Fest is one of the greatest, if not the greatest festival in the country. From expanding to three days to getting the President’s stamp of approval, WTF17 has done the impossible. See you next year!

1. Phoenix’s past

It’s true what they say, the world is a small place. Before Phoenix was even formed, Laurent Brancowitz, the guitarist, was in a band with future Daft Punk member, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. They were call Darlin’ based on the Beach Boys song. Funny story, a British magazine called Melody Maker labelled the band as a “daft punky trash”. Guess how Daft Punk got their name?

2. Charli XCX’s parents support

Just like most talented young artist, she started writing and producing her own music since she was 14. She started putting her own songs online before being approached by a music promoter that ran parties in East London and invited her to play at one of them. But being 16 and performing at an illegal warehouse in Hackney Wick got her parents worried. But instead of telling her to let it down, they instead went with her. Family support at its best!

3. The talented Lipa family

it seems that musical talent runs in the Lipa family. Before the British-Kosovar singer Dua Lipa started listening to singers like Nelly Furtado and Pink, she grew up listening to his father’s, Dukagjin Lipa, a Kosova Albanian rock singer.

4. Big Sean love for meditation

Instead of being in an industry worshipping fame and glamour, the rapper known as Big Sean is a very spiritual person. He opened up about his meditation process before he records a song. He credits his mother for his interest in spiritual. His mother would give him books to read as a kid.

5. G-Eazy missing Drake’s gig to avoid getting an F

Education first was definitely the motto of Gerald Gillum, mostly known as G-Eazy. When the rapper toured with Drake during a break from his classes at Loyola University in New Orleans, he was forced to miss some dates to get back to a class. While granted permission by most of his teachers to go on tour, he sadly couldn’t got one from this particular teachers that’s going to fail him if miss another class. So instead of getting wild on the stage with Drake, he went silent in a room for a class.

We are coming to that time of the year again. By that we mean, it’s that time of the year for We The Fest! And this year WTF came back for not their usual 2 days but 3 days! If you’re like us, then you have been preparing for this day since the beginning of the year, because God forbids you’re going to miss this year WTF and break the tradition.

But really, you think you know how to survive #WTF2017? Or probably this is your first time for #WTF since you cried yourself out over not going the previous installments (especially when you saw those celebgram’s feed after last year wtf’s madness). Take a seat and notes, before storming on H&M and become crazy on your summer outfit plan, these are some declassified guidelines for you to survive on WTF.

1. Make sure you secure your 3 Day Pass!

You have to realize that We The Fest is one of the hottest festival in the country, and this year they’re going full force with a 3 day festival. A lot of people would want to go to all 3 days. So we recommend you getting the 3 Day Pass before you regret missing all the fun.

2. Get Pumped Up with Killer Playlist

Nothing prepare you for a festival than listening to a playlist to get you pumped up for WTF17! Head to Ismaya TV channel to check out their official We The Fest 2017 playlist. And what do you know, you might discover some new favorite music.

3. Set your own lineup beforehand

WTF is a big festival, meaning it’s going to have more than one stage distributed around JIExpo. Thing is about big festival, your favorite artists might not be performing on the same stage or, God forbid, performing at the same time on different stages. To get the most of the festival, make sure you check We The Fest and/or Ismaya Live social media for schedule updates. Create your own schedule of artists you want to see to make sure you don’t miss any of the fun.

4. Comfy First

While WTF is known to be the most fashionable festival in the country. Every year a lot of people came to the festival wearing well thought out outfit, and they just gets better every year. But the one important thing you have to remember is to wear something comfortable. There’s nothing wrong about getting creative about your outfit, but make sure they are comfortable. You’re going to be active, watching shows, and running around from one stage to the other stage, might as well be comfortable.

5. Get there early

We The Fest is that festival who has everything! Not just music, WTF has arts, games, food that will keep you well occupied and entertained. So before you devour the awesome line up, make sure you come in early to check out everything else. Plus, if you come early, you won’t miss any of the lineup.

6. Keep Hydrated and energized

Ismaya Live and Demajors will choose 12 acts to battle it out at the Submit Your Music Showdown set to take place in July where there will only be 3 acts that will perform at the festival in August and will also win music courses from SAE Music School.             Last year Hello Benji & The Cobra, Pijar, and Westjam Nation came out as winners and shared the stage with international acts at We The Fest 2016 such as Purity Ring, George Maple, Hermitude and Alina Baraz.

The yearly summer festival WE THE FEST presented by Ismaya Live announced the first phase of We The Fest 2017 lineup through a teaser video from Ismaya TV YouYube channel Friday, February 24th at 6 o’clock. 10 international acts were announced as the lineup of We The Fest 2017 they were PHOENIX as the headliner with AUTOGRAF, DAYA, DUA LIPA, G-EAZY, JONAS BLUE, LIDO, MATOMA, SHURA, and YUNA.

8 local musicians have also been announced to spice up the first phase of the line up, POTRET, RAISA, AGRIKULTURE, DANILLA, MONDO GASCARO, SCALLER, STARS & RABBIT, and THE SIGIT. There are more international and local acts going to be announced in the next few months to complete the lineup of We The Fest 2017 this August 11th, 12th, and 13th in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The teaser video that was directed by Gianni Fajri was 3 minutes and 44 seconds long and starred Carissa Perusset, Rahajeng Puspitasari, and Januar Kristianto, with Raisa, Scaller, and Agrikulture while dancing to Phoniex’s ‘Lisztomania’..

3-Day pass ticket to We The Fest 2017 sold since Monday, Feb 20th 2017 through We The Fest 2017 official website and ticket box listed in the website.

There are two ticket categories, General Admission (GA) and Very Important Banana (VIB). GA tickets – 3-Day Pass starting from Rp 960.000,- for 1st Early Entry which ticket holders need to get to the venue before 16:00 WIB and for Presale first tier ticket holders can come whenever.

VIB ticket – 3-Day Pass stared from Rp 2.400.000,-. VIB ticket holders will enjoy added facilities such as special VIB line at the e-voucher switching area and while entering the venue, VIB viewing area located right in front of the stage, VIB toilet, and VIB Bar.

1. Witness first hand how We The Fest turned from Coachella to Glastonbury in hours

Day 1 of WTF16 started out hot and sunny, like your typical summer festival. Everyone came in with their sunglasses, shorts and white sneakers ready for a Coachella type festival. When the first raindrop fell followed by a mass of heavy rain, those summer Coachella feels turned into sea of colourful ponchos and raincoats. Green grass turned into one massive muddy dance floor. But like both of those great festivals, everyone had lots of fun nevertheless.

2. Raining = Universe’s way to tell you to shut down your phone
It’s a perfect sign from the almighty that sometimes all you have to do during a music festival is just to pay attention to the show, not your timeline, not your Instagram notification, not all those things. JUST THE MUSIC. We caught people had to keep their phones off in their pocket, and guess what, it’s great to not have it on your hands for once. Put your hands up, not phones up. Ps: Much love to bunch of teens who had the guts instagramming the shows while raining, good luck fixing your wet phones.

3. We can finally use Singing in the rain as our instagram caption

Have you ever listen to ‘Singing in the Rain’ and thinking that would be fun and wishes you could do that without looking like a maniac? Well we did that, and it was indeed fun! Another bright side, we have the perfect caption for our video singing ‘What can I do to make my baby understand?!’ on top of our lungs.

4. It’s the weekend that united us all
Really. That weekend united all of us. From beauty hijabis, a group of boys who just had their puberty, our editor who flew to the city just to see WTF, geeks who got the tickets for free from social media contest, famous people who are only famous on Instagram, hipsters who speak in a bilingual manner, vloggers who did an impromptu meet and greet with their fans, expats who blocked your view because they are just awesomely tall – and good looking, people who don’t love music that much – then people who love music so much that they don’t care what they wear, the cheerful gays who were loud yet still fun, and even parents who took their babies to the fest. #WeUnite

5. Getting teased with made up stories and two encores by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

The rapper and DJ duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis finally made their way to Jakarta. They loved it here and we love them being here. He’s not only bringing his cheerful persona with him, but also his skill of making stories. From telling the crowds that his daughter spoke her first word “Thrift Shop” at a mall in Jakarta to getting stopped by the immigration because he is “Brad Pitt’s Cousin” . We’re not telling you those stories are fake, but that’s some wild weekend he got if that’s all true.

The teasing doesn’t just stop with the stories. They successfully played with our emotions by giving us two encores! Just when everybody was ready to freak out when the whole crew left the stage after Dance Off, the great Ben came back on stage to treat the crowds to one more song, ‘Downtown’. The whole set was a emotional roller coaster.

6. We went back in time and party like it’s 1975

Another first timer in Jakarta is the British indie rock band, 1975. This band is definitely the most anticipated act at WTF16, based on the strong reaction they got on social media following the full lineup announcement. Playing right before the headliner, Mark Ronson, they’re an act worth the wait in the rain. Matt’s angsty voice combined with him moving with ease across the stage and hair flipping making teenage girls weak in the knees. With weak knees, everyone still managed to party it up until the rain stopped.

7. Recreate the most talked about music video

When we saw WTF’s instagram post about the Hotline Bling box, you can bet we spent the whole night practicing our Drake moves. From playing air tennis move to our best “call me” move, we got it all down!
8. Do n’t dress up too much. Because it’s a rain or shine or muddy
3PM – 5PM, it’s like we just entered an high street store or some aisles in New York with bunch of stylish kids. Afterwards, HELLO PONCHO! Here’s the thing, WTF simply states that the festival is not about music but also expressing your ideas through your outfits or maybe your over the top headpieces. BUT REALLY, this year’s WTF might be a subtle way of saying “babes, maybe next time less is more is the option”. We hope those expensive shoes that you wore during WTF were bought on sale, so you don’t have to cry while washing the mud off them.

9. Rich Chigga is a Godsend that ANYONE can own IT

This comedian slash rapper slash internet sensation finally got to perform to a big crowd at WTF16. If you have been following his social media these past years, you might have doubted the man. But last week he prove everyone wrong with his incredible rhyme and flow. The carefree ambience he brought to set makes it easy for the crowds to get really get into it. P.s., he did a dance off during Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ set.

10. Danced in the rain like a little kid
Honestly, when was the last time you had the time of your life dancing in the rain? I believe that Ismaya has somehow tricked the clouds into pouring a very light drizzle during the peak hours of WTF for a jolly good reason – for us to let go. Let go of the burning cigarette butts turned moist with the water droplets. Let go of you rain ponco because there is no use in protecting that flower headpiece (thank God I didn’t see any Native American headwear, guys, it’s politically incorrect to wear them). 11. Light festival
The thing with festivals is that you don’t have to know the entire lineup to have fun. There are so many fun games, activities and food to gobble about. The light setting was also very beautiful and illuminating, gave us so many spots to take not-so-candid Instagram shots with perf lighting. Bravo for all the sponsors and booths with such good lighting for thinking ahead on how much these people love to take selfies or stories.

12. Local treats
WTF is actually one of the few festivals I’d visit before the main lineup starts. There were so many good local talent starting with Barasuara, Sheila on 7 (so much nostalgia), Naif, and the indie players like HMGNC, dekat, Dried Cassava and Trees & Wild. And a few others I didn’t get to see but I’m pretty sure was super awesome as well. Doesn’t that give you hope for the local music to be as good (or even better) than the international guests?

13. Last but not least, Mr. Ronson himself
It was like war to get to witness Mark Ronson in the flesh. Even though it was a DJ set, you can actually feel why this man has made his way to the music industry. I swear there was a moment where my eyes got teary but I hope the person beside me thought it was raindrops near my eyes. The one-hour set by Mark was the perfect bang to close the entire two-day ponco fest.

Seriously, I don’t know how WTF manage to always go beyond my expectation, but I am 100% sure I’m not going to miss next year’s festival.

Summer festival WE THE FEST creates a platform for you people to showcase their talents I’m art through a series of interesting art competition.

For the first time, We The Fest holds a band searching competition titled ‘Submit Your Band’ which has announced its top ten bands chosen from hundreds of applicants from all over Indonesia. The top ten bands are Arc Yellow, Bedchamber, Beeswax, Circarama, Gizpel, Hello Benji and the Cobra, Littlelute, Pijar, The Boris Suit, dan West Jamnation.

The ten bands will compete on the ‘Submit Your Band Showdown’ stage on 26 July and 2 August 2016 at 365 Eco Bar, Kemang. The top three from the competition will perform at one of the stage at We The Fest 2016 on 13 & 14 August 2016.

Besides band competition, We The Fest 2016 also holds a #WTF16PosterContest competition where the contestants have to explore their creativity to create their own version of We The Fest 2016 poster. The winners will receive 2 VIB tickets and Rp 1.000.000 H&M voucher. 10 best posters will be chosen and presented at the venue on the day of the festival. Bullshits like “Music festivals have to be all about music – idgaf with the gimmicks or concepts” should just be thrown out of the window. We believe that ‘EXPERIENCE’ shouldn’t just be kept in your abstract memories – but also in your INSTAGRAM. Yes, Instagram matters. So, how to take advantage of a music festival like WTF? We give you the hints.

1. #OOTD of your style

The whole point going to a festival is too showcase your great style (ahem, Coachella, ahem Laneway). Put on your favorite festival gears and roam We The Fest in style. Find a background that will compliment your outfit and take the best damn #ootd pictures you’ve ever taken. At least, this is the perfect time to dress up as solid Indian hippies in the city.

2. Set the squad goal high

Festivals are best experienced with your best mates. An instagram post of the whole squad can show your followers that your squad is better than theirs. Be creative with your pictures or recreate some famous photos. Typing in Taylor Swift squad on Pinterest might give you some idea. This post can also show that you also have bunch of friends in the real life. However, if you are a loner, you can mingle with strangers’ group and photobomb them, and make sure you are in the photo. Still, #squadgoals.

3. Make your friends jealous with pictures of your Cabana Banana

This year, We The Fest is bringing back Cabana Banana for everyone who wants to experience WTF with a little something extra. Wow your followers with pictures of your special exclusive area and share your view of the stage. Isn’t the best thing in life is to make those people who are in the regular seats to be jealous with your super V.I.P life? Oh Yas!

4. Foodie by nature

We The Fest is not just exclusively for music, they have been known to have some pretty great art installations. Sure, Fun Zone sounds like it’s all fun and games. But getting the right pictures of your mid air pose on the bungee trampoline is serious business. But once you get it, everyone will love it! Yeay, at theme park and music concerts at the same time. #ILoveMyLyf

7. Sunset

Sure, Coachella got some pretty sunset overlooking the mountains and desert, but Jakarta skyline is as unique! Imagine looking at the sunset reflected on skyscrapers. That’s some artsy picture right there. Set aside the instagram point of view, when the sun is setting, you would find yourself being very grateful to be able to go to the festival, and realize that this amazing festival is happening in your hometown. Not Singapore. #GoLocal

8. Free Hugs!

Look out for WTF’s mascots with “Free Hugs” sign hanging from their neck. Wether it’s a clown, a wolf, or a banana, you ought to take a hugging picture with them. It’s just a great WTF tradition! What we love the most is you can request the clowns to do strange pose so they would look like adult clowns. You know what we mean.

9. Take a sick gig video!

Give your followers what they missed at WTF. Get to the stages early and score a spot close to the stage and record a snippet of the gigs. Your followers will appreciate it. But don’t forget to enjoy the gig yourself. While you are sending the videos on your feed, people who miss the festival is weeping at their home and they could just post some status such as : “WANNA GO TO WTF SO BAD. BYE PURITY RING AND BREAKBOT”

10. The stage!

We The Fest is known for their festive looking main stage. No exception for this year’s WTF! Either take pictures of it with no one in it or a crowded version of the stage, day or night, they’re going to come out great.

Whatever happens at the fest, you will always find the best things to capture your memories at #WTF16.
