In a few days DJAKARTA WAREHOUSE PROJECT will be present to enliven the festival world in Indonesia. The annual event is always held in December and has been crowned as the largest rave festival in Southeast Asia. The Djakarta warehouse project event has presented hundreds of international artists from the beginning of the party. The event will be held for two days and will be held on 15 and 16 December 2017 at JIEXPO KEMAYORAN. And as usual, Djakarta warehouse project invites international artists in world music dance .

On the first day, Friday, December 15th, DWP 2017 will feature Cesqeaux, David Gravell, Flume (DJ set), Ilan Bluestone, Marshmello, NWYR, Ookay, Purple Haze, R3HAB, Robin Schulz, Slander, Tiesto, ViniVici, Zatox , and Zeds Dead

On the second day of the event on Saturday December 16th, DWP 2017 will present Bassjackers, Desiigner, DVBBS, Flosstradamus, Galantis, Hardwell, Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin and Steve Aoki

The second day of DWP 2017 will be made more lively with the presence of a special stage from Barcelona touring concept named Elrow. With its distinctive concept, Elrow will carry the theme ‘Psychedelic Trip’ complete with spectacular decorations and production arrangements that have been successfully displayed in TomorrowLand last July. The presence of Elrow at DWP 2017 will be the first time Elrow brings its concept to the Asian continent.

This year, the DWP for the first time will also feature hip hop genre with American rapper Desiigner and Asian rapper from collective 88rising Rich Chigga, Higher Brothers, Keith Ape and Joji.
In addition to international musicians, a series of regional and Indonesian musicians will also enliven DWP 2017. Throughout her career, BANKS has released two critically acclaimed albums which are Goddess in 2014 and The Altar in September 2016 featuring hit single ‘Gemini Feed’. The yearly summer festival WE THE FEST presented by Ismaya Live announced the first phase of We The Fest 2017 lineup through a teaser video from Ismaya TV YouYube channel Friday, February 24th at 6 o’clock. 10 international acts were announced as the lineup of We The Fest 2017 they were PHOENIX as the headliner with AUTOGRAF, DAYA, DUA LIPA, G-EAZY, JONAS BLUE, LIDO, MATOMA, SHURA, and YUNA.

With a super fun twist, we were excited to see the giant mad clownchella stage returned this year. It’s official, we tag the clownchella as Indonesia’s #1 music festival icon!

2.The local hippie vibe Did you think the hippie outfits or those quirky headpieces weren’t made for our local personalities? Well, if you think so, think twice! We were in love with how amazing the locals pulled off their look in this festival!

3.Mingling Pool
The best thing about an edgy summer festival like WTF is it was a great place to bask in with the other live music enthusiasts even though you barely knew them before. FYI, our reporters got new 6 followers on Instagram after the mingling session. That’s quite impressive, right?

4. Kimbra settled it! Sealed! Enigmatic. Superb. We mouthed f-words multiple times during her performance because she was just awesomeballs. Period

5. Passion Pit’s fan who still enjoyed the fest
If you looked up on the twitter feed after the band’s cancellation on performing at the fest, some fans seemed utterly dissapointed with this news. However, we applauded the fans spirit for still keeping it cool through out the festival. Because who wouldn’t enjoy the fest!?

6.Food Vaganza It’s clear that the best way to get to the music fans’ heart is through their tummy (beside their ears). The fest brought a super fun twist by setting up Kokiku Stage. The stage was rocked by the best locals and international chefs from Masterchef Australia and Junior Masterchef Indonesia. Happy tummy, Happy people. Nice job Ismaya at ruining our diet!

7. It’s all about that bass
You know those music fans who act like “don’t go to the fest if you don’t know the bands”. Know what? Hell to those people. We saw so many cool live music enthusiasts who didn’t know the bands before yet they ended up becoming a huge fan of them!

8. Playground here,there, and everywhere Filling up the tummy? Checked. Cool line-ups? Checked. Bungee jumping? Checked! Just like last year, we enjoyed the playground area of this fest. It’s like an oasis for people like us (and maybe you as well) who always root for a big jump on the ground and scream happily, just like how you revive those childhood days!

9. Abrakadabra on set
Where in the world you could see a magic show while some cutting edge bands are performing with their edgy rhythms? Nowhere but at WTF. Like really!

10. Brightspot market invasion The Jakarta’s #1 market fair flagged their existence at WTF guys! You just couldn’t believe how bedazzled we were just by seeing two combinations of WTF and Brightspot Market. Ka-boom!

11. Your instagram has missed a great post

It’s obvious, Jakarta’s landscape on that sunday afternoon was just beyond! Just to make it better, the ambiance from the bands really packed up how great our sunday afternoon was.

Yes. This is it. Finally, the wait is over…

“Indonesia, are you ready to partaaaaaaay?”

DOPE! Let’s all give a massive round of applause to Ismaya Live for this humongous success of Djakarta Warehouse Project 2014. The sixth edition of Indonesia’s biggest Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival was expanded to two days, December 12th&13th2014. Yes! Two freakin days! That means we had doubled the experience, doubled the dancing, and doubled the fun! Ismaya Live have finally found their new bigger, comfortable, and most importantly mud-free ‘playground’ to all party goers to dance all night long which is slated held at JIExpoKemayoran, Central Jakarta. But not to worry, although the venue is far from the downtown, the organizer has provided shuttle buses between Gandaria City and Kota Kasablanka in South Jakarta, Grand Indonesia in Central Jakarta, all the way to the venue.

When we finally arrived at the venue on day one, we were surprised by how organized the ticket and security check on the main gate, compared to the last year’s event. Everything went smoothly and no one hastily entered the gate. As we walked through the venue, the outdoor food town, stands, and the drink parlours of Ismaya Group such as Bubble Tea and Pizza e Birra were found along the way. Everything was placed perfectly with nice lamps decoration above the food arena.

Not far from here, finally we could see the spacious Garudha Land main stage, which was the only outdoor stage on the venue, and the other two indoors that located on the wing side of the mainstage that is Mixmax Asia Stage and Cosmic Stage. Continuing to the other stages, we were surprised that there was a bigger indoor food town located right before the Cosmic Stage which has various different menu than the other one such as Kitchenette, Djournal Coffee, Sushi Groove and Tokyo Belly.

Surprisingly, by 7 pm, people had started to fill up the three dance floors to watch the early performers, such as Midnight Quickie and Crème de la Crème.

After it’s done, finally the long awaited line up from day one, Showtek took over the Garudha Land stage, followed by the massive performance by the youngest DJ from all line up in DWP14, Martin Garrix who hypnotized all audiences to dance with his killer set. (And yes, his performance was the highlight of the night indeed).
The performance was then followed by former member of Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello. He brought a full set of the best tracks, including his new hits collaboration with Dougy Temper Trap, ‘Wasted Love’.

The party hadn’t ended yet. Somewhere around 3am, Skrillex succeeded to make all of the ravers to dance and scream out loud with his famous dubstep and trap smash ups set which pretty much summed up the whole first day of rave night-out.

DWP14 featured Life In Color experience for the first time in South East Asia, hence, We knew that day two would become even bigger and more crowded than the first one. Cosmic Station stage turned out to be the home for ‘Life in Color’ stage where audiences sprayed by non-toxic paint throughout the show while dancing to live sets.

Life in Color stage was immediately generated loud screams from the audiences as the paint party started when Matthew Koma and Adventure Club respectively spinned through the night and heated up the floor.

Going back the Garudha Land main stage, the legendary Above & Beyond had already sucked up the crowd to join their spectacular performance. Not only playing their best set-list, they also spoiled everyone by saying “This is Indonesia, this is heaven” on the large LED screen on each side of the stage. Then, performance continued by Nicky Romero’s heart-pumping set followed with the non-stop laser beams and festive eye-candy fireworks up above the electric sky.

On the Neon Jungle stage, Rasmus Faber, Bondax, Peking Duk, and our local DJ Hogi Wirjono stepped up their performances that too rad to be missed. And on the Life in Color stage, DVBBS closed the paint party and somewhat succeeded to pump up the atmosphere by heating up the crowd with their hit set including ‘Tsunami’.

This wasn’t his first or second, or maybe his third time, Steve Aoki’s appearances here in Jakarta. To be completely honest, We weren’t very satisfied with his performance at the beginning.

But after 15 minutes of heating up himself, Aoki burned the night out with his attractive mash up songs and hits such as ‘Turbulence’ and made an exciting collaboration with Laidback Luke and Lil Jon. Not enough with that, he decided to do crazy stunt by jumped into a rubber boat and throwing a big mount of cake to the crowd.

Those memorable DWP14’s taglines such as “Eat. Sleep. Dwp. Repeat!” was actually applied in real life caused of the two-day extravaganza show we all had. For the magnificent laser shot and lighting, world-class international headliners, spectacular non-stop fireworks, and amazing paint party, We’re sure that Ismaya Live have succeeded on getting maximum satisfaction and love from all of us. We. Can’t. Wait.

Yes, We can’t wait any longer to rave it out on the two-day EDM festival, Djakarta Warehouse Project. As last year we threw you our guidelines, this year we are giving minutiae for #DWP14. These are some little important things that usually miss out when you are about to attend this festival. If you’re following these rules, trust us, you’ll pull anything off when you’re at the venue. All you have to do is just write them down and tick them. Here we go :

1. Work out to strut out :

This might sound silly, but if you attended the previous years’ of DWP, you might see some dudes became shirtless and some girls with their super shorts. What are we suggesting you here, you need to take some work out before the festival, and on the D-day, you can flash your muscles with proud. You’re sexy, and you know it.

2. Dance like everybody’s watching

We hail those of you who adopt; “Dance like no one is watching“, but really, really, really, this is Djakarta Warehouse Project, a place where people bust their moves. Before going to the fest, make sure you have practiced your moves and make sure it looks good. Or at least make sure you are not doing weird moves like banana dance or chicken dance. We actually found a tutorial of ‘How to Dance to EDM Techno Music’. Ehm.

 3. Ignore what we say in Number 2

Yes, ignore it. Because YOU SHOULD DANCE LIKE NOBODY IS WATCHING. When the hooks reach and the beats drop, all you have to do is just jump! No lessons needed,man!

4.Guy Fawkes’ mask

This mask is what we have been noticing in the previous years of DWP. And we’re sure we’ll be seeing more this year. In case you want to be part of the Guy Fawkes’ army, make sure you have this one!

5. A real cool sandal or flip-flops

We don’t want you to destroy your VANS or New Balance, so make sure you are wearing a slipper this year! or at least if you insist to wear cool kicks, bring some spare of cool slipper. So when your kicks are soaked, you can still looks awesome with your sandals or flip-flops. But no one is actually going to notice it though. (List of cool sandals or flip-flops)

6. Don’t wear Indian Headpiece

It’s just pretty much like the Guy Fawkes’ mask, the indian headpiece has been attracting our attention in the previous years of DWP. You know what, we love this headpiece a lot, but actually this headpiece is a bit disturbing, especially if you happen to stand after someone who wears it. The feathers are going to bother you. So, let’s just leave the headpiece home because we are not having a tribal bonfire.

7. Bring some waterproof for your gadgets

The upcoming and super brand new festival from Ismaya Live is started by their post on Instagram asking their followers to name the new music festival which promises something new and fresh. As they started the buzz and also spilled some hints for the line-ups, the live music enthusiasts began their guess-the-act agenda for this festival. So it’s We The Fest (WTF) that will blast Jakarta on August 24th!. On Wednesday (24/04), Ismaya Live released the first phase line-ups of this fest. The followers on Twitter erupted into a massive excitement when Ismaya Live tweeted “We told you ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN! And it’s happening! Confirmed for #WTF14 is @elliegoulding !!!”, and confirmed Ellie Goulding,the British female singer will be one of the line-ups for WTF 2014.

The announcement of the first names then followed by another exciting names, they are RAC, Goldroom, Time Flies, Jessie Andrews, and Banks. More names to perform at this festival will be released on their second phase announcement which will be revealed next month. To surprise you, WTF 2014 will have more than ten performers to debut at this boutique festival and they all are ready to drop balls for about twelve hours!

2 local bands, Protocol Afro and Jirapah have been granted a duty to kick-start the festival, and then afterwards, 2 British artists, Zero 7 and Fenech-Soler, have taken over the DJ booth and started to drop mesmerising tunes that satisfied the crowd. During Fenech-Soler’s set, a heavy rain started to pour. January and February have been known as the peak of rain month in Indonesia. So that is why, the promoter has provided a lotsa raincoats for the crowd. But sadly, the rain hasn’t showed a sign of stopping even right before Phoenix were going to start their set. However, the show must go on, right at 10.30 pm, Phoenix came on stage and started their set with “Entertainment”. The crowd went nuts straight after the first note of the iconic intro was played. No matter how hard the rain was, they crowd didn’t seem to care. They were just trying to mimic the sound of the iconic intro and sang their hearts out to the chorus of “Entertainment”. There’s no break yet, because straight after “Entertainment”, and iconic, heart-thumping drum intro of “Lasso” was played followed by a long chord of crowd singing. Afterwards, another iconic intro was played, this time it was an iconic intro of “Lisztomania”, a hit from their Grammy-winning album, “Wolfgang Amadeus”. “Long Distance Call”, “Too Young/Girlfriend”, “The Real Thing” and “Fences” came straight afterwards. Phoenix came again with another medley from their brand new album, “Trying To Be Cool/Drakkar Noir/Chloroform”. The rain has stopped for a while during a mash-up of “Love Like a Sunset Part I & II” and “Bankrupt”. The screen on stage began to show a video of Street of Paris in 1970s. Phoenix’s guitarist, Laurent Brancowitz once said in an interview that the best place to listen to music is in a car. Probably that is why the visualization at the screen was from a point of view of a car. However, straight after the song ended, the rain began to pour again. And it was a heavy one. I’ve never experienced that kind of wet again since the last time I had my first wet dream. A hit from their 2006 album, “Consolation Prizes” followed by “S.O.S in Bel Air” and “Armistice” was played straight afterwards. During their next song, “1901”, no one thought it could be their last song of the night.

Thomas Mars was standing right in front of the crowd, if it wasn’t for the rain and the sea of plastic raincoats, he must’ve been jumped into the crowd. The rain began to pour much longer and way stronger. Finally, the song ended and Thomas said, “Thank you so much, Goodnight”. Even though the crowd began to shout for an encore with their hearts out, there is no sign of coming back from the boys. The gig has ended. Turns out that Phoenix still has two more songs on the setlist, “If I Ever Feel Better” and “Rome” but for safety reason they opted to end the set right after “1901”. For some people, it might be a disappointing end of a great show. But Phoenix have showed their capacity and tried to conquer the rain. Even though they were struggling to cope with the weather and the stage condition. Deck was forced to play his synth right next to the drum set because of the rain, Christian had some difficulties to play some of his guitar part and Thomas Mars was soaking wet. They have tried to deliver their best, brotherly love and Jakartans should’ve been thankful for having them, again.
