Neon Indian To Perform Live in Jakarta

Alan Palomo and his band will bring Neon Indian’s captivating tunes to life in
Indonesia, headlining Play Loud Session presented by Prasvana, which will be
held at Rolling Stone Café, Jl. Ampera Raya No. 16 Cilandak, Jakarta Selatan on
Tuesday, 24 November 2015.
Initially conceived as a multimedia project combining their music and video into
short films, teasers, and straight-up pop songs, Neon Indian’s 2009 debut album
Psychic Chasms was dubbed as one of Pitchfork’s “Best New Music” upon
release. This record also helped define the genre that, though filed under a few
names (downtempo pop, glo-fi, chillwave), roused a unique atmosphere and
specific electro-mangled sound.
Having previously performed at top festivals like South by Southwest and
Coachella, as well as scoring opening slots for Massive Attack and The Flaming
Lips to Phoenix, Neon Indian’s debut Indonesian performance will take place
before heading to Australia for a slot at Meredith Music Festival.
This year also marks the release of Neon Indian’s much-anticipated follow-up to
2011’s critically acclaimed Era Extraña. The full-length release, VEGA INTL.

Night School, will drop on 16 October 2015. Jakarta’s own indietronica outfit,
Future Collective will be supporting. A collaboration between Sawi Lieu and
Tidak Wilson, their album #1: Ensemble Instrumental de Musique Contemporaine
was named as one of Rolling Stone Indonesia’s Best Indonesian Albums in 2014.
Praised for their “ intriguing dose of funked-up electronic rhythms dripped in synth
jazz that sounds as retro as it does futuristic” by The Jakarta Globe, the duo is
guaranteed to set the mood right for the rest of the night.
